The changes made in Path of Exile 2 are designed to POE2 Currency prevent any single skill from becoming too dominant. In the early access period, certain skills quickly outclassed others, making them the de facto choices for players seeking maximum damage or efficiency. This created a situation where most builds fell into obsolescence, unable to compete with the sheer power of a few standout abilities.
Supercharged Slam, one of the most powerful abilities in the game, was the first to be nerfed. With its ability to deal devastating damage in a short window, it quickly became a go-to choice for many players. GGG reduced the skill's damage by 60% at max level, aiming to make the ability more in line with other powerful skills rather than allowing it to remain overpowered. Additional tweaks to how the skill builds charges are expected, ensuring that it remains viable, but not an unbalanced option.
Magnetic Salvo, another overpowered ability, was also subject to a significant nerf. The explosions from this skill, which previously dealt massive damage, have been toned down by 40%. GGG clarified that these nerfs are part of an ongoing effort to maintain balance, ensuring that all skills feel useful and fun to play.
“We’re not attacking fun; we’re trying to Path of Exile 2 Currency ensure all skills remain viable,” GGG explained in a statement. "It’s important that the game supports a wide variety of playstyles, and that’s why these changes are necessary."
